Annual New Zealand Marine Science ConferenceOne primary function of NZMSS is to organise an annual conference where domestic and international marine scientists, professional and student, gather to share their work in series of theme-based oral and poster presentations. The conference venue shifts between host institutions. Each conference has its own temporary website to handle electronic submissions and registration.
Our next conference will be held Mon 7 July - Thur 10 July 2008 in Christchurch (joint conference with Australian Marine Science Association). Theme: Human impacts and functioning ecosystems There is general recognition that a wide variety of stressors increasingly affect marine ecosystems, including various aspects of their character and functioning. Given the range of marine ecosystems encompassed by New Zealand and Australia, it is timely that a broader focus is given to these problems, particularly in our temperate to subantarctic waters. Accordingly, plenary talks will highlight impacts, threats, modifications and knowledge of function across diverse ecosystems. Plenary Speakers A number of speakers will make topical presentations in non-concurrent sessions. Details are here. Registration. Thank you for the abstracts received by 23 May, 2008.
